What is the “bankroll”?
It’s the capital a bettor decides to set aside for sports betting and it’s also his maximum risk. Sportyy decides how much to risk on every pick as a percentage of the bankroll.

Why do odds drop after you launch the pick?
This happens mainly in tennis because the liquidity offered by the bookies isn’t as high as in Football. The reason for the drop is the great number of bettors who follow our picks and the credibility we have gained since june 2010. After a pick is published the quickest bettors will get the best odds. However, even if you aren’t quick enough and don’t get top odds you should be able to make a profit if you follow our picks.

To sum up, although they are real odds, the liquidity is minimum and the variation of that price can be huge as the market hasn’t been created yet.

What’s the difference between using a Fixed Bankroll and a Rolling Bankroll?
ROLLING Bankroll: You update your bankroll after every pick. It means that if there are profts you reinvest them and if there are losses your bankroll is reduced. If our initial Bankroll is 1,000 € and we win 30 € in the first bet our following bankroll will be 1,030 €. If in the second bet our stake is 4% our next bet will be 4% of 1,030 = 41.2 €.
FIXED Bankroll: You always use the initial bankroll to calculate your bet amount. It’s as if you spent the money you have won or replaced the money you have lost. If our initial Bankroll is 1,000 € and we win 30 € in the first bet our following bankroll will also be 1,000 €. If in the second bet our stake is 4% our next bet will be 4% of 1,000 = 40.0 €.
At Sportyy, although the charts we show are made using a Fixed Bankroll strategy, we strongly recommend using a Rolling Bankroll strategy. If things go well you capitalize on your profits and growth can be exponential. And if they go wrong you reduce the risks progressively. Obviously, if you want to spend the money you win you will have to use a Fixed Bankroll strategy.
What is the difference between bankroll “Performance” (Return on Capital) and “ROI”?
The bankroll performance measures how much your bankroll has grown while the ROI (Return on Investment) or yield tells you how much you have won for each euro that has been bet. A 15% ROI means that for every 100 euro you have bet you have won 15. It’s a widely used variable in the sports betting world. Here is an example:
Initial Bankroll: 6,000 €
Final Bankroll: 14,000 €
Profits: 8,000 €
Total waged: 75, 000 €
Bankroll Performance (ROC) = 8,000 / 6,000 = 133.3%
ROI = 8,000 / 75,000 =10.67%
What is the “Strike rate”?
It’s the division of the number of successful picks and the total number of picks. Although we include this figure in our statistics, it’s not very relevant data on its own. You can win money with a 20% strike rate if the average odds are very high. It’s not one of our objectives to have a high strike rate.
